Simple Meal
Korea has a culture of eating rice as the main dish with side dishes. Even though it's a rice farming area, there are many mountains and winters are cold for more than half the year. That's why people are taught not to waste grains carelessly.
The act of eating a lot on a show called 'mukbang' is interesting. It's more like an exaggerated show, similar to dramas or movies. Actually, Koreans usually eat with family or close friends. They used to think it was rude to show others how they eat. But since everyone is busy, it's hard to gather, and after school or work, people often eat alone. This is called 'honbap', and 'mukbang' has become a friend to 'honbap'. It gives a comforting feeling of eating together, which brings a lot of emotional satisfaction.
Even when eating alone, people get tired of the same side dishes, so they try to change things up. Using bread instead of rice can also make a meal.
When the weather changes, you can feel the seasons through food. When it's cold, people eat kimchi stew with bean sprouts and tofu, blowing on it to cool it down. When it's hot, they drink several iced Americanos and get a stomachache, so they make clear chicken soup to soothe their stomach.
Even though my cooking skills aren't great, these are dishes that are easy to make while bringing out the taste of the ingredients.

This is a savory side dish of stir-fried anchovies with almonds. It's seasoned with soy sauce, so it's a bit salty.

Delivery pizza and oven pasta. The taste of capitalism.



In summer, chicken is boiled clear. You can add rice to the broth to make porridge. Drinking a lot of cold water and drinks can hurt your stomach, but this helps soothe it. It's also effective when you feel off because of the air conditioner.

Spicy chicken stew. If you boil it with potatoes, green onions, and chili powder, it's spicy. It's warm to eat in winter.

Ordered black bean noodles and spicy seafood noodles.

Samgyeopsal (pork belly) is quite fatty, so it's grilled occasionally.

Kimchi, napa cabbage, green onions, and sausages are stir-fried, then rice is added and stir-fried again. Kimchi fried rice.

Grill a steak and add some vegetables from the fridge for a nice aroma and some vitamins.

Boil noodles and top with kimchi and cucumber. Use mild green chili peppers.
